Rhys

Oh, Love this boy.  He is the sweetest, happiest kid I have ever.  He is so sweet to everyone and has been a complete joy in our family.  He has been such a strong rock in our family through out this whole process.  When its really hard on Justin and me he is always there to put everything into perspective.  Heres a few of what hes up to lately.
His favorite songs are Paradise by Coldplay, The wise man built his house upon the rock, and The big 'ol daddy spider
His favorite color is green.
His favorite food is hamburgers, hot dogs and pasta.
He loves bike rides, climbing, hiking, swimming with his floaties, jumping, and running.
He is the interpreter for his brothers babble.  "Beckham wants a drink."
Anytime I wear a skirt or dress he says "Oh momma, are you a princess? So cute."
He is so smart.  He will remember everything you say and apply it at random times.  For instance, I mentioned that school buses take the kids to school. And when he is 5 he gets to go to school.  So now anytime a school bus passes, he says, "when I'm five, I get to ride the school bus all by myself. And when Beckham is five, he can go with me too. We can go to school together."  I really hope he gets to ride the bus.

He is still snuggles like crazy at every chance he can.  Every morning when he wakes up he crawls into bed and snuggles for at least 30 minutes.  Since Beckham wakes up usually and hour later, he will often just play with his trains until B wakes up.
He still giggles at everything.
He loves to go to the beach and loves to be in the sand, but hates to actually go anywhere near the ocean.  This isn't great for Daddy's surfing buddy, so hopefully he gets over this aversion.
He is just like his daddy.  They say the same things, make the same faces, and are so alike its crazy.
Every stage with this kid has been better than the last.  I love how we can have our own little conversations and he can keep up.  I love it.
He is such a goofball! He is constantly making us laugh and making his brother laugh. It is the sweetest thing to see those two laughing together, and fortunately its becoming a more common thing.
Basically, I love this kid.  He is perfect to me.

Beck's 1yr.

This boy could not be more endearing. He is the happiest kid. Goes to bed easy, sleeps like you wouldnt believe, and only cries when hes tierd or, unfortunately, his bog brother is beeting up on him. The good news is that Rhys is finally starting to think hes pretty cool too and fun to play WITH not just near.

He is a super quick crawler, masters the stairs, walks along everything, can stand for a few seconds on his own before he gets too excited and usually face plants.
He is impossible to fill. He will sit and eat as long as we let him. He is done with baby food and eats everything. Loves to feed himself finger foods and I think its the cutest thing.

He says dada and plenty of babble in his own language, but thinks hes talking to us.

He thinks his brother is the coolest kid around. He watches his every move with envy and will always laugh at anything he does.

Rhys 18 mo.

He loves to say prayer. He folds his arms reverently, stands still till its done, and can usually be heard mumbling some "words" under his breath. Its very sweet.

His words include: doggy, koda (doda), banana (nana), apple (appo), juice, lunch (munch), breakfast (breckie), milk (moke), ready go (deady, do), alright, hi, ba bye, no koda, stay koda, more, please, there it is (dere is is), drink, snack (nack), duckie, Nemo (meemo), cheese, up, out, ball, truck, uh oh, that (dat), belly button (bee bo), Elmo (memo), choo choo, and pretty much just tries to mimic whatever we are saying. Plus all his animal noises: duck, dog, cow, sheep, snake, monkey, donkey, cat, lion, ect.
He loves to stick his tongue out.... and still drools.... a lot!

Still loves all fruit and hates most veggies, especially all the green ones. His favorite right now is apples and pomegranets, but maybe thats all I'm eating these days too.
He loves to climb into his stroller and waits there till we go for a walk. Or he will climb onto his monster tricycle and loves to get pushed around on that.
He still loves koda and shes finally letting him play with her a bit too. He will chase her and play tug all while giggling like crazy. He can pretty much be found playing in the dirt if left outside. He loves to get his hands dirty and I love it!
He loves to babble and then start laughing like hes just cracked this amazingly funny joke. Of course we laugh right along with him, with no idea what he just said. Its pretty cute.
His favorite song is itsy bitsy spider. He follows along with all the arm motions and claps at the end, then asks for "mo."
He wakes up happy as can be and plays in his crib for about 20 minutes till we go get him. Its nice to get a few minutes to wake up. But he still has to snuggle for at least 20 minutes after he wakes up.

He still loves trucks, cars, balls, and anything that spins
Counts: one, tooo, tee, fo, I, sis, eight.
And he can say, spell and recognize his name. You have to start him off with R but he will follow it up with H, Y, and S.

He is such a happy healthy babe. I am so in love with him right now and am loving this stage. He is so inquisitive and learns something new everyday. I love getting to play and teach and enjoy having him around. He rarely throws tantrums and will do almost anything you ask (close it, put that away, dont touch, stop, come here, put it back, leave it, ect.). I adore him and am so glad we have this time for just the three of us.

rhys- 16 mo.

Rhys had his 15 month appointment today.... and hes 16.5 mo now. Oops! Heres the stats:

Head: 19 in. 75.03%

Weight: 26.9 lb 71.73%
Height: 33.5 94.35%

He's a big kid, but some how I just cant get enough of him. He makes me laugh daily.
  • He still loves to snuggle after ever nap and when he gets up in the morning.... for like 20 minutes. I love it. I hope this never changes!
  • He loves to run, throw anything, push around his fire truck or wagon, be outside, climb, open cupboards, kick his soccer ball, swimming, his baths, the beach, trucks, cars and anything with wheels (still) and so much more.
  • He trys to talk, mostly just trying to copy what I was saying, but its cute what he comes up with. What he actually says is mama, daddy, doda (for koda), doggy, hi, bye, yeah, oh no, moo, baa, woof, hiss, duck, nack (snack) and trys to say breakfast but it comes out like blkfst. He also signs and says more (moe), food (foo), all done, and drink, and blows kisses like an italian eating good food.
  • He has started doing this new thing where he croutches down and takes steps backwards so he can run forward to throw or kick.
  • If you tell him "I'm gonna get you" he turns around and runs right back at you. It is so cute and he really doesnt get the idea of the game. But its great if he is running away from you, he will just come right back.
  • He goes down for naps and bed time like a champ. I just put him down and he rolls over and goes to sleep. Rarely does he cry or fuss, more just looks at you Thank You! And he sleeps about 11-12 hours a night. Bless his heart.
  • He eats a ton! The only things he wont eat is lettuce, broccoli, and the skin of tomatoes. Anything else is pretty much fair game. His favorite is sweet potatoes, strawberries, blueberries, any fruit really, milk and rice.
  • He finally just cut his botto K9's so we are all done with teething till he's 2! Yeah!

Basically he is beyond cute and we adore him! Cant get enough of this face.

And one final update...

can you find it?

26 August 2010

Here goes nothing

August has flown by! It was such a crazy month full of family, friends, NP's, baby blessings, homecomings, decorating and re decorating, more family, road trips, concerts, over nighters, a lake trip, and tons of fun. My kind of month!! I'm going to try and recap as best I can but it may take a few days.... or weeks. What can I say, August has been good to me.
